The Year 2020 – A Grim Start to the Year

At the end of the year 2019, we look to the year 2020 with much hope and anticipation. No one could have foreseen the year 2020 to unfold in a manner as it did today.

The year 2020 started with the Australian bushfire which killed an estimated of 1 billion animals. Then, the world was hit by the news of a virus outbreak in China that soon turned in to a global pandemic. As at 28 March 2020, the Covid-19 virus has more than 560,000 infections and has killed more than 25,000 people worldwide. The global stock market crash in late February, with global stocks seeing a decline of at least 25% as a result of the virus spreading globally paralyzing economic activities. This pandemic is one of the worst episode we have witnessed in our generation, with effects not only on the economy, but also psychologically as people feel anxious, depressed and worry about their health, safety and livelihood.

Classic Blue – A Color the World Needs

The world has endured many deadly pandemics, wars and natural disasters.

There is nothing as reassuring as nature. Mother nature have lasted for as long as humans existed, and we can depend on it to continue on long after we have left this world. The sun, oblivious to the world’s happening continue to rise each day as the dawn breaks in to the bright blue sky. The rhythm of the nature goes on its own pace, unperturbed and constant. The nature is the most dependable and reassuring thing we look to in times of uncertainty.

Classic blue is the color of the blue sky at dusk. It is a strong color that brings a sense of peace and tranquility to the human spirit. In times of turmoil and great distress, we can look to the blue sky and the blue ocean for its calming and reassuring qualities.

Classic Blue in Floral Designs

Pantone color of the year has influenced the trends in floral designs and wedding decorations for years. Early this year in January, we came up with a flower design inspired by the color of the year 2020, Classic Blue.

The design uses the color palette of white, light blue, pink, lilac, classic blue and ash green.

The color we used in our design is reminiscent of the sun rise and the morning sky with a shade of blue, lilac and pink.

We named this design ‘A New Day’ to signify the start of a new year and era.

Previously, we have also similarly came up with a blue themed design named Ocean Day in conjunction with the Ocean Day that falls in June.

As we navigate through this trying and challenging time, take a look at the natural blue sky and ocean. The future is unknown and uncertain, but the nature is everlasting.

When all of this is over, go talk to the person you like, go meet that old friend you didn’t see for a long time and go do the things you always wanted to do.

If we make it through, live every day like it’s a gift. Love and appreciate the people around us. Don’t forget to also love yourself more. Live life and leave no regrets behind.
